Every year the applicant for the university admission always out of the capacity. The growth of the university and the applicant seem not equal. The contest become so tough so hardly a smart one could enter the university, but not the rich.
It is common the university provide some places for the rich in the name of education support. The problem is perhaps on the way how to handle the fee, so become not secret anymore that a bribery could also follow the admission for the rich. Even the authority say no that the process is transparent, but in reality many are complaint could not enter the university with regulation already followed.
The reason also that university has to protect its name by accepting only qualified applicant. Its true but not in reality, university have a relax system regarding how under graduate student get mark as always easy to manipulate if you can approach the person. This is why not so transparent at all,
although regulation is clear and the university followed, the affect would come on the outcome.
Indonesia had old university with big name on it, but on competition to go international is left behind. Skilled worker from famous university sometimes could not enter the job market. They just marginalize in the corner, which no skill accepted by the industry.
Even like that the politic pull down more in creating problem in efficiency and competition. How come the paid is decided by other party, which one is the owner of the company. This is the problem and seem just to be continued in every administration elected in this country.
The reason to protect the people also has same reason university protect its name. Still if want to compete internationally have to reform the system. The admission proccess have to priority the healthy competition for the smart one.
