Indonesia unicorn is not much but create changing in economy and regulation. The problem is that the unicorn grow so big that authority had loss control over its regulation. Perhaps too many hand try to control instead of bringing good to the economy.
When talk about paid worker always so many hand want to join, it is also in how to set tariff for transportation on line. Many believe it is better to give it to the market through competition, but what happen that the unicorn grow to powerful that become the only one or make a monopoly. The problem seem to arise and sure will press the consumer right.
It is right that authority have to protect the consumer right but not to mingle in setting a tariff. Better also to make a healthy competition in the transportation industry, through well regulation which cover all the operational of the transportation. Either way authority still have also Anti trust agency who can control the healthy competition in the market.
The raising unicorn in Indonesia is testing the regulation and authority policy regarding competition. Administration seem very happy with the flow of fresh money to join the investment in the unicorn. The impact of the grow of the unicorn hardly administration see as future monopoly.
It is simple money would control everything, even the regulation or policy could be made after that. The power of connection and influence of the unicorn just set a beginning of new monopoly. When the creditor join also in politic, perhaps would be the end of regulation.
Whenever there is a mutual interest, for sure the regulation or common sense could be kept aside. That's why control still needed through our democracy and media. Bigger is good as long as not suppress the costumer right.
