There is not much we can say regarding prospect on election year, analyst usually say wait and see. Some investors might believe to wait, but not the "whale". They are very happy if the market stagnant or turn to bad, because they will get investment in cheap price, i.e stock.
This is regarding the news in The Economist which has given bad news or doubt about Indonesia Economy on election year 2019. Of course the news according to the factual data, and journalism is independent, impartial, but still every news have two side. It give an upper hand to the other side, or we called it an ulterior motive.
This writing not covering about politic, but how market moved by "whale". Big investor tend to invest when the market in down condition. Then they will take profit when the market going up, this is common in stock market, and every investor knew it.
The smart investor must do research before investing. Indonesia is big country and the most populous country in Southeast Asia, some say it too big too fall. The growth of Indonesia Economy mostly driven by domestic consumption. When financial crisis in 1997, domestic consumption made the Indonesia economy survive.
Indonesia problem is infrastructure, corruption, and human resource. As long as there is budget for infrastructure, fighting for corruption and budget for education, could keep the Indonesia economy grow. If you see all thing are on tract, although the economy growth still below the expectation.
Election year 2019 might be the best time for "whale" to collect the stock or invest in area left by previous investor. "Whale" is very happy with the bad news, and invest in cheap price.
